Juniors
Although often perceived as a sport for older adults, thousands of junior athletes participate in lawn bowls each year. With the appeal growing every year, we’re likely to see more in the future.
The ACT Junior Championships held during the April school holidays and a mixture junior competitions and mainstream lawn bowls competitions are available for junior athletes throughout the ACT and region.
If you would like to become involved, whether you are 5 years old or 55 years old, contact Bowls ACT.
Junior Policy
As a consequence of the growing number of junior participants in the sport of lawn bowls, Bowls Australia has developed Junior Policy to guide the development of junior athletes into the future.
The policy is due to be approved by the board of Bowls Australia in the coming months. Once the policy is generally available it will be adopted by Bowls ACT.
Working with children check – the ACT currently does not have a requirement for a person to undertake a police check before commencing to work with children. This policy is currently being reviewed by the ACT Government. Watch this space for changes to this policy.
