ACT Representative Coach/Selector Positions Vacant

by admin on May 11, 2015

Nominations are now invited to fill the vacancies of one (1) State Coach and Two (2) Selectors on each of the Men’s and Women’s Selection Committees.
The State Coaches will form part of each Selection Committee and will be the Chairperson of that Committee. Nominations will be considered by the Executive Directors of the Board of Management who will appoint the incoming Selectors/State Coach to enable those persons to assume office on 1 July 2015. The term of office of the newly-appointed Men’s & Women’s Selectors and State Coaches will be one (1) year. Coaches are expected to have (or be able to quickly attain) a Level 1 Coaching accreditation.  There are no formal qualifications required of Selectors although both should expect to obtain Working with Vulnerable Children Checks and complete required ASADA training.
A Club may not have two members on the one Committee except with the approval of the Directors of the Board of Management.
NB: These positions are unpaid however a small honorarium is provided to cover out of pocket expenses.  A contribution towards travel and/or accommodation expenses (where applicable) may be required.  The expectations of the Coach positions include that you would be available for up to 4 representative practice series (3 at home, 1 away ).  The selectors would take it in turn (generally) to accompanying the teams, undertaking the role of Manager.  The Coaches and all Selectors would be expected to be available for Sides Championships in Canberra in early 2016.  In addition to the above, Coaches and Selectors are expected to attend training sessions in the lead up to Sides.
Please contact Kate Lyttle for further information and nomination form (exec@bowlsact.org.au).  Nominations close NOON on Wednesday 17 June 2015.   Nominations are now invited to fill the vacancies of one (1) State Coach and Two (2) Selectors on each of the Men’s and Women’s Selection Committees.
