Women’s Fours and Men’s Pairs State Champs Decided
In recent weeks both the Women’s Fours and Men’s Pairs State Championships have been decided.
Over at QRSLM, in an all Queanbeyan affair, Adam Jeffery (Sk) and David Thomas from QRSLM demolished the team from Queanbeyan of Mick Carley and Jason Johnston 22-13 (20) in the final. Jeffery/Thomas defeated “Creekers” Hemi Palmer and Garry Charker in their semi whilst Carley/Johnston defeated QRSLM pair Elio Elijas and Nathan Savino.
In the Women’s Fours played at Tuggeranong, it was another Queanbeyan team taking the honours – Lorraine Donney’s team (Donney, Maggie Johnston, Donna Seddon, Jan Sutton) defeated the ladies from Tuggeranong – Sandy Richards, Heather Goodman, Bev Jones and Helen Carter 24-19.
