Temporary New Premises and Changed Office Hours for Bowls ACT

by admin on December 6, 2016

The end of November saw the end of an era when the Bowls ACT office finally moved out of the Bowls ACT Office in Turner after …. well…. a very long time! Thanks to ‘packers’ Bev and Catherine, ‘muscle men’ Rob, Ian, Peter and Ken from City, and Phil from Weston Creek (accompanied by his muscle boys Ryan and Jackson!). (Almost )Last but by no means least, a HUGE THANKS to Peter McInnes (Belco’s new President) for assistance with transport. We couldn’t have done it without you!
Finally, thanks, too, to Gungahlin Lakes Club, soon to be home of the City Bowls Club, for letting us store stuff there until we have a permanent home!
Effective immediately, the Bowls ACT headquarters will be located at 20 Ironside Street, Weston.  This is a temporary solution until we can secure permanent accommodation, hopefully around the middle of next year.
For this period of time, the office hours will be 9:00 – 5:00 Monday to Thursday.  On Fridays, a message service will operate.  For urgent matters on Fridays, email (exec@bowlsact.org.au) or my mobile (0407 181 013) will be the best way to make contact.
Other Administrative arrangements:
• The main telephone number (02 6257 3560) has been diverted to a mobile with voice mail.  There will only be one line operating at a time so if the number is engaged, please leave message.
• The fax number remains the same – 02 6108 3557.
• The postal address remains the same. PO Box 6105, O’Connor, 2602.
• Bank accounts for direct deposits are unchanged.
• Visitors to the Office are welcome to park in the driveway.  Entry to the Office is through the front metal gate, along the path and to the right of the front door (signposted). I recommend calling ahead in case I’m out of the office at meetings etc.
• In all other ways, it will be business as usual!

Please be aware that there are animals (cats, dog, rabbits and chickens) on the premises.  I will do my best to restrict any contact with visitors but people with allergies to pets are advised to take appropriate care!-
