Rookie Singles Winners!
The Rookie singles were played on the weekend of 8-9 April in difficult conditions. The Women’s event, played at QRSLM, was won by Kam Beck from Yowani when she defeated Queanbeyan’s Michelle St Claire. Kam defeated Norths Gina Dowley to make it to the final whereas Michelle defeated Yowani’s Annette Mitchell in her semi-final. (Pictured here with Marker, Bowls ACT Board Member Noel Mullins).
In the men’s event at Canberra North, Bungendore’s Dan Edwards was victorious over Yass’s Robbie Taylor. Dan defeated Ethan Heffron from Belconnen in his semi-final whereas Robbie had to defeat Tuggeranong’s Greg Monteith in his semi. (Pictured here with Bowls ACT Board Member Roger Grylls).
