Competition Details (scroll)
Nominations for the 2020 Women’s Midweek Pennant are now open. Please submit one form per club. Please refer to Section 3 of the BACT Conditions of Play (effective 1 January 2020) for information about this competition. In particular, please note that this competition is a full ‘home and away’ series – without finals - and that all pennant grades are to play as 2 teams of 4: The intention is for the first round of this competition to commence on Tuesday 15 September 2020 (but this may change depending on numbers of teams). Generally, all matches are expected to be scheduled for play on a Tuesday but there may be occasions when we have to schedule an alternative day. There will be no play on Melbourne Cup day. Please note nominations are to include the number of sides and the preferred grades. Reasons should be provided for these preferences where appropriate. We are hoping to have 3 grades, but we may have to have combined grades due to lower than usual numbers. The makeup of the grades, together with the draw will be advised according to the following criteria: • Every club is entitled to enter a side in Grade 1. • Sides will be allocated so as to achieve a balance in team numbers between the grades. • Sides will be allocated so as to avoid (where possible) allocating two sides from the same club to the same grade. Every endeavour will be made to accommodate grading requests but this is not always possible. Nominations close at the Bowls ACT Office COB on Wednesday 19 August 2020. The entry fee will be determined once the number of teams/grades is known. However, as an indication, last year’s fee was $240 (including GST) per side.
