2021 ACT Mixed Pairs
UPDATE
Please be advised that the 2021 ACT Mixed Pairs have been postponed and will no longer be taking place this weekend.
The forecast for the weekend is not expected to exceed 8 degrees at all, without consideration of wind chill which would drop the temps even further. Combined with the rain that is expected tomorrow morning the conditions are not suitable to continuing play. As well as this, there has been another exposure site listed in Goulburn, meaning there is a new risk identified to the community in the region and we do not wish to impart greater concern to the community through this time.
The new dates for the tournament will be the 14/15/21 of August. We understand that there may be clashes with club tournaments, however, the nominees for Nationals need to be with Bowls Australia in this time frame. If any participant is now unavailable due to clashes with their scheduling they will be entitled to a refund of their entry fees. We will keep the initial draw for the tournament, unless we reach a point where the integrity of the draw is compromised. The Match Committee will act as the decision maker in that capacity and any changes will be advertised as soon as practicable.

The 2021 ACT Mixed Pairs look set to be the biggest event in its short history. 48 entries have come in for the tournament showing an ever increasing interest in participation through the mixed format. Teams range from Crookwell to Tuggeranong as we get set to come together across two venues across the next two weekends.
Venue
With the increase in entries for the competition as well as some adverse weather in the past couple of weeks Bowls ACT have had to make the difficult decision to move the event from Yowani CC Bowling Club.
In moving the event we are hoping to be able to comfortably accommodate the extra numbers and avoid having a severe disruption from the forecast rain on the back end of this week. I’d like to thank Yowani CC Bowling Club for the manner they have held themselves in with the decision to move the event. It is our hope that in the near future weather and circumstances will be permitting for Yowani to showcase the improvements to their greens when we are able to put some brilliant events back on at Yowani.
Weston Creek Bowling Club will act as the main host for the 2021 ACT Mixed Pairs in combination with Canberra Bowling Club. Matches across the first four rounds of the tournament (July 24 and 25) will be split across WCBC and CBC before the tournament heads to Weston Creek Bowling Club outright on the 31st of July for the Semi Finals and Final.
Draw
A table version of the draw can be found below. Unfortunately Bowlslink isn’t playing ball so the venue won’t be displayed on the Bowlslink portal, however, we’ll endeavour to get the scores up to date as we can across the weekend and into the Semi Finals next weekend.
