Bowls ACT Event Update

by corourke on September 1, 2021

Both the ACT and NSW Governments have recently moved to extend their lockdowns across the wider region meaning that for the time being there will be no bowls played across Bowls ACT. Bowls ACT did have several events scheduled to be going ahead over the coming weeks, however, in line with the restrictions will no longer be able to hold these events.

While lockdowns continue there has been relatively little information given about the easing of restrictions and a pathway back to recreational and competitive sport. As such, Bowls ACT is not in a position to make a decision on the future of these events.

We will continue to monitor the situation and will advise clubs and participants of the decisions to be made in the future as we move forward with planning for post-lockdown. We understand that people are keen to get back on the greens, however, we would like to encourage you to continue to play your role and abide by the current local health advice.

Events that are currently impacted by lockdowns;

2021 BACT Champion of Club Champion Pairs

2021 BACT Mixed Pairs

2021 AMA Projects Invitational Singles

2021 Mid-Week Pennants

Nominations that have been received for the Mid-Week Pennants will be cancelled. Upon a decision being made on the running of the competition a new EOI for nominations will be released to clubs. We will endeavour to run all competitions upon learning of the road ahead.

For now, please stay safe and well and we will see you back on the greens when we can.
