2022 Bowls ACT Awards
In 2022 Bowls ACT will be looking to introduce several new awards to recognise achievements of individuals and clubs across the entire calendar year. With the beginning of the Championship season this week Bowls ACT are happy to introduce the first of these awards, the Bowler of the Year (male and female) and the Club Championship.
Bowler of the Year
The Bowler of the Year will recognise the performances of male and female bowlers across the calendar year in Bowls ACT Championship events. Similar to Bowls Australia’s ranking system, members will receive points based on their performance across the five Bowls ACT Championship events; Singles, Pairs, Triples, Fours, and Mixed Pairs.
Following the completion of the events points will be allocated and updates presented. At the end of the year the awards will be presented for Male Bowler of the Year and Female Bowler of the Year.
Club Championship
The Club Championship will look to recognise the performances of clubs across the calendar year in The Pennants and Champion of Club Champion Events. For The Pennants, points will be allocated based on final ladder position and Grand Final performance. For the Champion of Club Champion Events points will be allocated based of finishing position in the event, similar to the Bowler of the Year. Points from these two competitions will be tallied and at the culmination of these events the winner of the Club Championship will be declared alongside other award winners.
Bowls ACT Awards
Throughout the year Bowls ACT will be adding several other awards to the end of season awards which will look to recognise the efforts of clubs and individuals on and off the green. We will have several updates coming throughout the year on this and we are looking forward to recognising and celebrating the achievements of our members.
