RE: Midweek Pennant
Thanks to all the clubs who have nominated for the 2022 Bowls ACT Mid-Week Pennant season. In consultation with clubs and the match committee it has been determined that the competition will be played across 10 rounds and with two grades for both men and ladies. Men’s grade one and two will both consist of five teams while the women’s competition will have six teams in grade one and eight teams in grade two, split into two pools and playing home and away against teams in their own pool and just once against teams from the opposing pool. This has been chosen to allow for the most diverse and even competition with the nominated sides.
Clubs have been setup with the ability to enter teams and results through BowlsLink. If there are any clubs uncertain as to how to use BowlsLink for pennant entries/results please get in touch with Nick Hind.
Due to these large numbers of entries and taking into consideration green availability it was determined that the Ladies Mid-Week Competition will be played on Tuesday’s, commencing September 13th and the Men’s Competition will be played on Wednesdays, commencing September 14. The ladies competition will play Thursday the 3rd of November rather than November 1st due to Melbourne Cup as I believe was previously advised. Clubs which are impacted with players unavailable with during the season can elect to re-schedule games via mutual agreement between clubs involved and BACT.
