2023 Pennant Draw – Now Available

Bowls ACT are proud to release the draw for the 2023 ACT Open Gender Pennant Season. Bowls ACT trust that clubs and members are understanding of the work which goes into hosting a pennant competitions and while it is appreciated that not all gradings align with what has been requested, Bowls ACT and the match committee have worked together to determine the best competitive outcomes for the sport and the clubs. Having even numbers of teams, no byes and a robust competition in all grades is deemed to be the optimal outcome for 2023. All clubs and members will be given an opportunity to provide feedback at the conclusion of the 2023 competition.

All grades except Grade 2 will be played in a six team, ten round home & away season. Grade two will be played as an eight team competition with teams split into two pools. Within these pools teams will play home and away, making up six of the ten rounds and once only against the other pool with two games at home and two away.

Finals will be played as per the Bowls ACT Conditions of Play;

In Grade 2:

Major Semi Final First in Section A v First in Section B
Minor Semi Final next highest overall finisher v second next highest overall finisher
Preliminary Final Loser Major Final v Winner Minor Semi Final
Grand Final Winner Major Semi Final v Winner Preliminary Final
Semi and Preliminary Finals will normally be played at the club of the side that finished first on
the combined ladder after the home-and-away rounds. At Bowls ACT’s discretion any of these
finals may be allocated to a different venue.

In all other grades:
