2023 ACT Junior Carnival – Nominations Open

Bowls ACT are excited to open the nominations for the 2023 ACT Junior Carnival to be hosted by Queanbeyan RSL Memorial Bowling Club. This year the event has been expanded with the addition of a one day junior pairs tournament, open to ANY junior bowlers from around the country, as well as a coaching session from Bowls Australia Pathways Coaches/Players. All events are open gender.

Schedule of Events –

  • Wednesday April 12 – 2pm – 4pm – Meet and Greet on the green + coaching from Bowls Australia Pathways Coaches/Players
  • Thursday April 13 – Capital Junior Pairs Tournament – Open to any affiliated juniors. 3 Games of 13 ends – Single entries welcomed
  • Friday April 14 – ACT Junior Singles – Format determined by entries – Singles first to 17 shots

Event FormatCapital Junior Pairs

  • An open draw will be conducted prior to the event. Maximum two (2) trial ends shall be permitted at the commencement of each game.
  • Dead ends do not count – ends to be replayed.
  • Format is three bowl pairs played over 13 ends
  • Club uniform is to be worn
  • Prizes – $100pp for the winners and $50pp for the runners-up
  • The host club is the event controlling body.  The controlling body may change the event format if required due to inclement weather.

Event Format – Junior Singles

  • An open draw will be conducted prior to the event. Maximum two (2) trial ends shall be permitted at the commencement of each game.
  • Dead ends do not count – ends to be replayed.
  • Format is four bowl singles played to 17 shots up
  • Club uniform is to be worn
  • Event winner will be eligible to represent ACT at the 2023 Nationals
  • Prizes – Badges will be awarded plus $100pp for the winners and $50pp for the runners-up
  • The host club is the event controlling body.  The controlling body may change the event format if required due to inclement weather.
