Bowls ACT/Lords Taverners Disability Schools Day

by Bowls ACT on April 12, 2023

Bowls ACT are proud to have been able to support Lords Taverners ACT with the delivery of a multi-sport disbility day for ACT schools at ‘The Dome’ in Fadden on Wednesday April 5th.

Bowls ACT was represented alongside tennis, cricket, futsal, wheelchair soccer and table tennis, giving ACT kids with disability the opportunity to try a range of sports at the indoor facility.

Bowls proved immensely popular with students and teachers and with ACT Junior Coach, George Bruce, on hand to deliver the sessions all involved were given a quick lesson before trying their hand at a range of activities using Bowls Australia’s Rookie Rollers All-Abilities equipment with lots of capability on display in a sport most had never experienced.

BA Pathway’s coach (NSW/ACT) James Reynolds commended all involved as our sport looks to provide more opportunity for players of all-abilities to participate. In total 8 schools and over 150 participants took to the courts at Fadden with the day likely to to grow into a regular event.
