Junior Jordan is a Fours Champion
Jordan Sturgiss – Goulburn Railway Fours Champion
Bowls ACT junior Jordan Sturgiss has made a big impression in little time. 12 year old Jordan has only been playing the sport for a few months but is benefitting from the great coaching provided by Goulburn Railway Bowling Club, the Bowls ACT junior program and Aussie Jackaroo Ellen Ryan, who was in touch from the Australian Open with her best wishes ahead of the final.
Jordan was thrilled just to have been invited to play as lead alongside experienced campaigners Russel Thompson, Ian Drysdale & Hayden Ward in the clubs 2023 Fours Championship, but has walked away with his first championship! The big hearted Jordan playing consistent lead bowls, regularly outdrawing his more experienced opposition in a performance which had club president Reg Thoms full of praise saying that the club is privileged to have him as a member.
The match came down to the final end and indeed the final bowls, but it was Jordan who played his first bowl right onto the jack, where it stayed and was the difference in a 21/20 victory and first of what is likely to be many club championships.
