Greenline Invitational Singles – Field Announcement
Bowls ACT and Greenline are pleased to announce the field to contest the 2023 Greenline Invitational Singles to be played at Canberra Bowling Club. Sixteen of the regions best Men, Women, Junior and Para bowlers will be taking to the greens to determine the 2023 Greenline Invitational Singles Champion and claim the $1000 first prize.
The Bowls ACT board have worked to determine the final field which is full of current and developing champions. Click below for the full list.
2023 Invited Players
Matt Sargeant – Current ACT Singles & Pairs Champion, Sarge has done almost everything in Bowls, except win the Invitational Singles!
Di Marquet – Current ACT Pairs Champion & Mixed Pairs Runner-up, Di has long been established as one of the regions strongest female players.
Jenny Clout – A fixture in ACT representative teams who has won just about every title in the region and continues to play outstanding bowls.
Harvey McAlister – One of the regions brightest junior prospects, Harvey gets his chance to test his skills against the best in singles competition.
Garry Charker – Super consistent and a noted singles player, Garry was the runner up in 2022 and will be looking to go one better this year.
Flynn O’Shaughnessy – Rewarded for his stellar form with a call-up to the Pathway Jackaroos squad in 2022, Flynn will be out to win in this hot field.
Matt Barrie – A new member of the Emerging Para-Jackaroos, Matt has been on fire all season for Belconnen and will be looking to add this title to an already impressive resume.
Chloe Morrison – Emerging Jackaroo familiar with the biggest events, Chloe has all the skills to take out the Invitational Singles crown.
Sharon Steele – The current ACT Womens Singles and Pairs champion, Sharon has had another great season in all formats and will be one to watch.
Jamie Smith – Current ACT Mixed Pairs champion, Jamie has the top-level skills to give this competition a real shake.
Ruth Moore – The other half of the current Mixed Pairs Champions, Ruth has enjoyed a distinguished career and has the skills to take on and win against the best.
Glenn Morton – Current ACT Triples champion, Glenn is a high quality player for many years who won’t look out of place in this field.
Adam Wallace – Current ACT Indoor Singles representative, ‘Wal’ has enjoyed a breakout season in the Capital after moving down from the Hunter region.
Jess Hogan – Reward for an outstanding season by one of the regions best young female players, Jess will be looking to go to the next level here.
Sharon Blandy – The 2022 ACT Rookie Singles winner has continued to grow and improve her game and will be given an opportunity to go head-to-head with the regions best.
Doug Farr – The Weston Creek representative continues to play great bowls and will be looking to go at least one better after making the 2022 Invitational Singles Semi-Finals.
Bowls ACT are also pleased to announce that the event will be Live Streamed with select matches on both days giving fans an opportunity to watch the regions best at the club or online! Bowls ACT wish to thank Bowls NSW for their support in the provision of streaming equipment.
Following feedback from 2022 the event will move to sectional play for day one with all players having three games, with each section winner progressing to the finals on Sunday. Members are encouraged to get along to the club to catch all the action or tune in on Facebook.
