Invitational Singles – Live Streaming Schedule

Bowls ACT are excited to bring the game to more people via Live Streaming

The Greenline Invitational Singles are quickly becoming one of the events in the capital region. In 2023 Bowls ACT will be live streaming select matches for the very first time, giving greater exposure to the sport and the players. While all members are encouraged to get along to Canberra Bowling Club to watch their favorite players in action, select games can be streamed via the Bowls ACT Facebook Page. Make sure to like & follow the Bowl ACT Facebook page and have your notifications on so you don’t miss any of the action. Check out the broadcast schedule for day 1 below.

Round 1 – 9:00am approx

Flynn O’Shaughnessy v Garry Charker (Section 1)

These two players are already very well known within the ACT and have a growing profile with Charker the 2022 Runner-Up in this event and a masterful singles player. Charker has a delivery which is super effective and can expect to be seeing lots of bowls very close, the Canberra Bowling Club member knows every inch of the surface and will be tough to beat.

Flynn has grown in profile in recent years, entering the pathway Jackaroo program in 2022 following an outstanding Australian Sides campaign as third to James Reynolds. O’Shaughnessy has the calm composure of a champion and the skills to go all the way in this competition having played the past several seasons as a member of Canberra Bowling Club.

Round 2 – 12:15 approx

Matt Barrie v Jenny Clout (Section 4)

This game presents to be a fantastic battle between the emerging Para-Jackaroo Barrie and the ever accomplished Clout, both names well known and highly regarded in the ACT.

Matt Barrie is a member of the back-to-back Grade 1 Champion Belconnen club as well as an emerging Para-Jackaroo following his outstanding 2022 nationals campaign where he claimed a triples bronze alongside John Mason & James Reynolds.

Jenny Clout is one of the regions most respected and talented players. The Tuggeranong Vikings member has won just about everything in the ACT! She will be tested against this field, but has the class to come out on top.

Chloe Morrison v Harvey McAlister (Section 3)

Two of the regions brightest young stars will take to the green in what should be a fierce contest. Chloe Morrison is well known and highly regarded in the Australian bowls community, the Tuggeranong Viking is a multi-time club & ACT champion across all disciplines, Morrison will be out to show she has what it takes to claim this title following an impressive run at the Australian Indoor finals recently.

Harvey McAlister represents the next generation, at only 17 he has already accomplished a lot in his short career, with a fourth place at the Junior Nugget & the 2023 ACT Fours title among the recent highlights. The current Queanbeyan Bowls Club member & Karabar High School Captain will be looking to announce himself as a player to watch in year to come with some big games here.
