Yass Junior Championships Record Field
Yass Bowling Club adding a Junior Championship with record junior numbers now into the sport!
Bowls ACT have been proud to support the growth of junior development across the region with Yass Bowling Club now one of the leading clubs in this area with a dozen juniors signed up and ten set to play on Monday in the newly created Yass Junior Singles Championships.
The club have had a proactive approach to juniors following regular school holiday programs with Yass Valley Council since 2021 attracting new interest in the sport being supplemented by assistance from Bowls ACT providing competition and coaching support has all led to the creation of a new junior championship. Matt Waters and Brett Penyu have both taken a lead with the recruitment and development of all the juniors with the club excited for the next generation of talent, led by ACT Junior Representatives Tom & Toby Penyu.
The club has also chosen to be at the forefront with technology, using BowlsLink for the first time to run a championship event. Brett Penyu impressed by how simple the system is to use with the support provided by Bowls ACT and is excited to use the technology for more events at the growing NSW club.
