Bowls ACT All-Abilities – Session One
With thanks to support from Belconnen Bowling Club & ACT Sport & Recreation
Bowls ACT were thrilled to partner with Belconnen Bowling Club to deliver the first All-Abilities activation for 2024 on Thursday March 25th. With funding support from ACT Sport & Recreation the event saw over thirty bowlers take to the greens, some for the first time and others who have been involved since the first round of events in 2022.
With the Bowls ACT Activations Committee in attendance plus volunteers from the Belconnen club and coaching from Para-Jackaroo & World Champion James Reynolds the event was a hit! A large number of the attendees were from The Disability Trust and initially there was hesitation from some of the group, but between fantastic encouragement from volunteers and also watching others whom were having a go, the vast majority got into it with most bowling for well over an hour, learning new skills as they went.
Bowls ACT encourage members with connections to disability organisations to promote these events with the next event scheduled for Thursday May 9th at Tuggeranong Vikings from 10:30am
