Indoor Qualifiers Wrap
After 3 games on Saturday for the Men, the Semi-Finals were set for Sunday Morning with Ian Whybrow set to play against Jamie Smith and Paul Totterdell up against david Kimber. The Semi-Finals saw Ian Whybrow take the win over Jamie Smith, winning the first set 9-6 and drawing the second set 7 all. Paul Totterdell was able to get the better of David Kimber, winning the first set 10-2 and the second set 10-4. In the final, it was a back and forth affair. Paul was able to claim the first set 9-8 but Ian replied back straight away, winning the second set 10-8 and forcing a three end tiebreak. In the tiebreak, it was Paul who had the upper hand as he claimed the tiebreak 3-2 and booked his spot at the Australian Indoor Championships.
With two forfeits in the Womens Qualifier, the final was set with Chloe Morrison playing against Sharon Blandy. Chloe showed her class as she was able to prevail in straight sets 15-1, 9-3 which appears to be the perfect catapult for her to hopefully go a couple of games better at Tweed this year.
Once again, Bowls ACT congratulates all participants and wishes Chloe and Paul the best of luck for their upcoming quest for glory!
