2024 Greenline Invitational Singles – Field Reveal Part One
Greenline & Bowls ACT are proud to partner with Queanbeyan Bowls Club for the 2024 Event
With the 2024 Greenline Invitational Singles just over a week away Bowls ACT are bringing you the first of two parts revealing the field for the richest singles event in the capital region.
Section 1
Garry Charker leads off the field announcements as the 2023 Champion will take some beating! ‘Chucky’ is one of the regions premier singles players and will always be one to watch. Runner-up in the first event before winning last year, can Charker go back-to-back??
He will be chased by clubmate and fellow ACT Representative Jamie Smith who is coming off a strong season, again claiming the ACT Mixed Pairs as well as a Grade 1 Pennant Flag as part of this years exceptional Cobras team.
Joining the two Canberra players is the ever-green Marg Bacchetto who will be competing in this event for the first time. The Yass bowler continues to excel and will be looking to add this title to her incredible resume.
Rounding out the section is the 2023 Mens Rookie Singles winner Dan Hartwell. Dan has risen quickly through the ranks at his club and across the ACT and will be looking to show he is ready to go to the next level here
Section Two
Emerging Jackaroo Chloe Morrison deserves top billing in this section. The Vikings member has swept all before her in the singles format in 2024 claiming the Vikings Club singles, ACT Champion of Champion Singles and ACT Singles titles. Can she add the invitational and complete the sweep??!
Weston Creeker Mac McLean has accepted his invitation to compete in 2024 and will likely be a player to watch. The current ACT triples champion has been in rare form this year and will be ready to turn it on in front of the cameras!
Queanbeyan RSL junior ace Telara Edwards is rewarded for her outstanding season with a place in the field finishing a quarter-finalist in the ACT Womens Singles and semi-finalist in the Mixed Pairs. Telara will also be the ACT Girls representative at the upcoming Junior Nationals in a combined team with Western Australia.
Canberra stalwart Richard Lawson rounds out the section. ‘Henry’ has been there and done that in ACT competitions as continues to be an outstanding singles player, the 2021 ACT Champion of Champion singles winner won’t look out of place in this company and might fly under the radar!
