by Admin on September 30, 2024

In the lead-up to The Nationals, Bowls ACT will be taking a look at our representative players, with thanks to representative partners Westcoast Bowls!

Junior Boys

These boys show heaps of potential with some more experienced juniors and some fresh faces!

Toby Penyu leads the charge from the front as he’ll be playing in the singles discipline as well as skipping the Pairs. Toby has had a breakout year, winning the ACT Junior Singles and finishing 5th in the Singles discipline in a highly competitive field at the NSW Junior Interzone 7 A-Side.

Jordan Sturgiss will be looking to continue the rich vein of form he’s found himself in recently. Jordan will add from his experience at the School Sport Australia Championships and will look to bring home glory in both the Pairs and Fours disciplines.

Sam McGuigan makes his Nationals debut this year after a very strong 2024. Sam has been competitive all year, earning a spot in the South Coast Squad for the NSW Combined High Schools Championships. Sam will be keen to make an impact on the big stage at Club Tweed having only taking up the sport recently and quickly rising through the ranks.

Logan Waters will also make his Nationals debut this year, showcasing the junior talent coming out of Yass. Logan has excelled recently in bowls, representing Sydney South West at the NSW Combined High Schools Championships. The experience he will gain from this event will set him up to be a top Junior for the near future.

Brayden Noonan rounds out the squad with the Belconnen Junior leading the boys in the Triples and Fours disciplines. Brayden will use the experience from past Nationals and will look to go a few games better and win a medal.

Junior Girls

The ACT have combined again with WA to create a strong and competitive sqaud!

Telara is the only ACT Junior girl going up to Tweed this year. Telara will represent the ACT in the Singles and Triples disciplines this year. Telara has had a strong 2024 so far, highlighted with a semi final finish in the 2024 ACT Mixed Pairs, and she will be looking to add with a medal.
