2025 ACT Fours Championships – Nominations Now Open

Bowls ACT are thrilled to offer two streams of competition for 2025 with State Championships leading to National Representation and the Open Gender Graded Reserve Championships offering shorter formats in a more social environment!

Bowls ACT are excited to announce that nominations are now being accepted for Mens & Womens State Fours to be played at Canberra Bowling Club & Queanbeyan Bowls Club and the Open-Gender ACT Graded Reserve Fours to be played at Yass Bowling Club. Nominations will be open until Sunday January 26th.

Members eligible for the Graded Reserve Fours must have played the majority of the previous years pennant season in Grade 4 or below, those without a pennant grading must be assessed by their club to be of that level. Current ACT representative players will not be eligible, regardless of pennant grading.

Event Format – ACT State Championships

  • An open draw will be conducted prior to the event. Maximum two (2) trial ends shall be permitted at the commencement of the each game.
  • Dead ends do not count – ends to be replayed.
  • Format is two bowl fours played over 21 ends.
  • BA approved club uniform is to be worn
  • Teams can be made up by of members of any Bowls ACT club(s) and can be from one or more clubs.
  • Event winners will be eligible to represent ACT at the 2025 Nationals
  • Prizes – Badges will be awarded plus $200pp for the winners and $100pp for the runners-up
  • The host club is the event controlling body.  The controlling body may change the event format if required due to inclement weather.

Event Format – ACT Graded Reserve Championships

  • An open draw will be conducted prior to the event. Maximum two (2) trial ends shall be permitted at the commencement of the each game.
  • Dead ends are re-spotted to the ‘T’
  • Format is two bowl fours played over 18 ends.
  • BA approved club uniform is to be worn
  • Teams can be made up by of members of any Bowls ACT club(s) and can be men, women or mixed gender and can be from one or more clubs.
  • Prizes – Badges will be awarded plus $100pp for the winners and $50pp for the runners-up
  • The host club is the event controlling body.  The controlling body may change the event format if required due to inclement weather.
