2025 ACT Singles Championships Wrap
Bowls ACT congratulate all bowlers on a highly competitive event!

The Bowls ACT Singles Championships wrapped up over the weekend at Queanbeyan RSL Memorial Bowling Club and Weston Creek Bowling Club. Spectators were treated to three high quality finals between worthy players!
Womens Singles Final
It was a tight battle in the Womens Singles Final between Tuggeranong’s Chloe Morrison and Weston Creek’s Jess Hogan. Both bowlers made it through their Semi Finals with solid margins with Chloe winning by 13 shots over Sue Montesin and Jess winning by 8 shots over Jenny Clout. In the Final, there were constant momentum swings, with Chloe getting the upper hand early before Jess got on a run of her own to close the margin. Ultimately, it was Chloe who ran away with it, winning 25-17 and claiming her 4th State Singles title. Congratulations Chloe and Jess!

Mens Singles Final
The Mens Final between Mac McLean and Shane Ordelman was set up to be a thriller. Both players were coming into the final with momentum behind them with Mac claiming an 11 shot win in his Semi Final against Mark Whybrow whilst Shane knocked off State skip Jamie Smith by 9 shots. In the Final, Mac took control, getting out to an early lead and never looking back. Shane put up a fight, cutting down the margin, but Mac was clinical all game, winning the Final 25-13, claiming his 1st State Singles title in the process. Congratulations Mac and Shane!

Graded Reserve Singles Final
It was an all Yass final with Zac Paull up against Jodie Penyu out at Weston Creek Bowling Club. Both had different routes to the final with Zac winning his Semi Final in straight sets against Kevin O’Hanlon whilst Jodie won her Semi Final in a tiebreak against Alana Robertson. In the Final, Jodie won the first set 11-10 before Zac hit back, winning the second set 10-8 and forcing a 3-end tiebreak in the process. In the tiebreak, Zac kept his momentum going, claiming the tiebreak 4-0 and claiming the title for 2025. Congratulations Zac and Jodie!
