Capital Academy Program

The purpose of the Capital Academy is to allow access to quality coaching and to create a community for junior bowlers to come together and play. The Capital Academy serves as a junior pathway designed to develop junior’s skills and help meet their competitive needs to ensure a successful long-term involvement in the sport of bowls. Australian U18 Championships

The Australian under-18 Championships is Bowls Australia’s only junior national event of the year. Bowls ACT desire to send five girls and five boys to represent the state. The Under 18 Championships are to be held in Perth, WA in October 2023

Junior Development Days

Bowls ACT, with the support of the regions clubs, are invested in growing junior participation in our sport. School holiday programs, multi disability days and regular junior bowls clinics all form part of the plan of Bowls ACT to increase junior participation and representation in the sport.

ACT Junior Carnival

Bowls ACT are excited to open the nominations for the 2024 ACT Junior Carnival to be hosted by Yass Bowling Club. In 2024, the Carnival consists of the Capital Junior Pairs which are open to ANY Junior bowler, and the ACT Junior Singles which are open to Junior Bowlers of Bowls ACT Affiliated Clubs. All events are open gender.

Schedule of Events –

  • Thursday April 18 – Capital Junior Pairs Tournament – Open to ANY affiliated juniors. 3 Games of 13 ends – Single entries welcomed
  • Friday April 19 – ACT Junior Singles – Format determined by entries
