Winter Jack Attack Tournament
As some of you have noticed, a new event has crept onto the Bowls ACT Calendar…. The “Club Jack Attack Tournament” has been bought in to replace the former Winter Tournament which has been struggling to survive in recent years.
So how will it run?
It will be similar to the Winter Tournament of previous years in that it will be:Mixed, mufti, played during the day on Mondays, and run for approximately the same number of weeks (July- August, give or take, depending on entries). Team members must be from the same club.
It will be different in that it will be based on the Jack Attack format: teams of 3-5 (with 3 playing at any one time, two optional substitutes can be used, as long as the team on the green is of mixed gender at all times. Two sets of 5 ends (plus a one end tie-breaker if needed). And last but not least… each team will have a “Power Play” end where they can nominate to play for double points. There will be two games per Monday with a break between them. The home venue will be rotated through the clubs involved (ie all games will be at the same venue each week).
Entries are to be made online as per the usual system. “Creative” team names are encouraged….
Feel free to give me a call if you want further details.
