Bowls ACT mourn the passing of a great servant to the sport and the Goulburn community.
Bowls ACT today received notification of the passing of Lesley Thoms, secretary of the Goulburn Railway Bowling Club. Lesley has dedicated a a large part of her life to the sport and to her club, alongside husband Reg have served in many roles on the GRBC committees and was integral in the club joining Bowls ACT in 2020 and subsequent unification of the Mens & Womens clubs in 2022.
Lesley played an integral part in establishing the ‘Ellen Ryan Gateway to Gold’ at the club, in the promotion of new formats including the BPL Cup as well as duties as a player, umpire and manager. Lesley has really done it all for the sport since joining in 2010 and will be sadly missed by the bowling community. Bowls ACT send condolences to her family and friends.
A service will be held next Wednesday, December 13th in Goulburn.
